The purpose of the Mentor High School Distinguished Hall-of-Fame Recognition Program is to recognize Mentor graduates who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields or occupation and/or are recognized as positive contributors to society.

The Mentor High School Alumni Association serves as a permanent testimony that the Mentor High School experience prepares graduates to face life’s challenges, to problem-solve and to make decisions that will positively influence and/or contribute to the well-being of our society.




The nominee for the Mentor High School Distinguished Hall-of-Fame should:

1.      Be a graduate of Mentor High School and attended for a minimum of 2 years;

2.      Have graduated from Mentor High School a minimum of 10 years prior to the year of nomination (2005 or earlier);

3.      Be free of any felonious convictions;

4.      Be able to attend the Induction Ceremony and related activities which are normally held on a date to be determined during the month of April;

5.      Be successful in his/her field of endeavors as determined by the selection committee as demonstrated by:

a.       accomplishments worthy enough to be shared with current Mentor students as an example of a “Success Model”;

      b. personal characteristics recognized by society as acceptable, appropriate, and worthy

      enough to be acknowledged as a “Role Model”;

      c. positive influence to others;

      d. participation in community organizations or community service;

      e. high school and college honors, recognition and activities.

Please attach the nominee’s resume and a short narrative (no more than 500 words on a separate sheet of paper) describing why this individual should be selected for the MHS Distinguished Hall-of-Fame. The essay should include community service and why the nominee would name an exemplary role model for current students at Mentor High School.


It is appropriate and encouraged to include any news-paper articles or other items regarding the nominee; copies of awards received, and/or other letters of support or recommendation for the nominee.
