We Care is a prepaid, self-supporting program. Our only funds for staffing, snacks, art/ craft materials, games, sports equipment, etc. come exclusively from the annual registration fee and hourly tuition that we charge.
Registration Fee: There is an annual $35.00 non-refundable registration fee per child with an annual maximum of $70.00 per family.
Hourly Tuition: Families are charged a rate of $4.00/ hour for each child in the program. There is a minimum charge of one hour ($4.00) per shift (morning and afternoon), and then additional time is charged in quarter hour increments.
Children picked up after 6:00pm will be charged an additional late pickup fee of $8.00 per quarter hour.
Families are required to purchase 25 hours of care ($100) per child at a time. It is the responsibility of the parent/ guardian to ensure that there is a positive balance in the student’s account to continue We Care Services. Balances can be monitored on the Parent Portal or checked at the We Care Center.
There are three ways to pay:
1. Credit Card (Parent Portal- Payments- Select desired payment amount in "optional items")
2. Checks made payable to: Mentor Board of Education (no postdated checks)
3. Cash
The Mentor Schools We Care program does not meet the eligibility requirements to accept Lake County child care assistance at this time. For information on child care assistance and to locate participating providers, please contact the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
